Melissa Patrello is a visual artist in McKinney, Texas. She is best known for her kinetic sculptures and puppet design, often showcased through her theatrical design studio, StageWorthy Arts. In 1986, Melissa studied painting and sculpting at UNT College of Visual Arts and Design. She returned to UNT in 2011, where she began utilizing textiles as subject matter, painting in grids and basketweave patterns. The grid serves as framework for her composition, warped and distorted in a form of self-imposed conflict, and resolved in mosaic imagery, referring to human creation perceived as knitwork. In July 2020, Melissa presented Wonderfully Made, a series of pieces painted in quarantine.
